I have spent over 30 years raising millions of pounds for charities.

 

At Mencap – where I was promoted 5 times – I grew event income from £250,000 p.a. to over £3.6 million. In my final role as Head of Corporate and Event Fundraising (which also incorporated Trusts, Major Donor giving and Groups and Associations), I managed a team of 21 and a budget of £6.5 million. I was also played an instrumental role in the planning and delivery of our capital appeal. Key achievements with my amazing team include winning Charity of the Year for Tesco and the London Marathon, as well as making Mencap one of the market leaders for challenge events.

 As a consultant I have achieved spectacular results for many organisations, ranging from large national charities such as Mind, Age UK and the Alzheimer’s Society, to smaller organisations such as hospices. I have also provided consultancy advice to Event sector agencies such as Skyline, Classic Tours and Limelight.

I have chaired the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s London and South East Region since 2018 and deliver their Introduction to Fundraising course, as well as all CIOF courses on Event Fundraising. In addition, I have also been a regular on their Mentoring scheme.

I have served as a Trustee on the board of a medium-sized charity and am currently a Non-Executive Director for a coaching social enterprise.

In 2026 I am setting up Fundraising Across the Board with my brilliant colleague Sarah Goddard, with the aim of embedding fundraising across an entire organisation from Board level down, and breaking down silos to unlock income potential.
